Stage 13

Sperlinga - Messina, 195 km
27. May - 6. June 2012

This was one of our more difficult legs. We came upon so few places to stay the night across the sparsely populated mountain regions of Northeast Sicily. That said, this leg brought so many unforgettable adventures over our hikes in the Southern Monti Nebrodi, around Mount Etna, and in the mountains of Peloritani. Over three days around Mount Etna we walked together with our friends Günther and Christine.
